Clark, N.J. – Twin Boro Physical Therapy has officially confirmed its support of Kid’s Chance of New Jersey, which is an organization created to provide scholarships for children of workers who have been fatally or catastrophically injured in a work-related accident. The philanthropic group is part of a national organization with a focused goal of acquiring donations through both companies and individuals, making higher education an attainable goal for those families who have suffered financial hardships as a result of a workplace injury to a parent.
Quote from Larry Bock, P.T., President and Chief Operating Officer of Twin Boro Physical Therapy
The first Kids’ Chance organization was founded in 1988 by workers compensation attorney Robert Clyatt in Vadosta, Georgia. He developed the initiative after having been a direct witness to the dramatic effect that workplace injuries and fatalities can have on families, specifically the hardships it causes the pursuit of higher education for the children of the household. After incorporating the inaugural Kids’ Chance group in Georgia, the organization began reaching out to other states to further expand the cause, and now over half of the states in the nation have independent Kids’ Chance groups.
Quote from Kid’s Chance Representative
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are approximately four million workplace injuries in the United States each year, resulting in approximately one million disabling injuries and 5,000 deaths. Through the efforts of Kid’s Chance, over 2,000 educational scholarships and over $5M in scholarship funds have been distributed by Kids’ Chance state organizations since its inception.
Kid’s Chance of New Jersey offers different levels of donations for contributors, with packages available for both individuals and companies. Contributions to Kid’s Chance can be made online via PayPal at its official website, www.kidschancenj.org, or checks can be sent directly to
